Computer to Plate has been in production at IPMG since Sinnott Bros
and Offset Alpine Printing pioneered this technology in September
1996 - the first CtP printers in the Southern
Hemisphere. IPMG has CtP technology
installed thoughout the entire group. Computer to Plate eliminates
the need for film and produces a crisper print result than outdated
traditional methods. Not only is the print quality improved, the printer
can achieve this improved quality in less time.
What is CtP?
Computer to Plate is the process of
transferring digital data from computer directly onto the printing
plates. In order to check the data being transferred contract quality
digital proofs are produced for content and colour matching, and a
set of Colourlines. are produced to check the imposition.

Traditional methods of platemaking use light exposure, a process which
