November 2008 Hannanprint Gongride Team Raises over Thirty One Thousand for the MS Society

For the third year in a row, Hannanprint entered a corporate team into the 2008 Sydney to Wollongong bike ride, to raise funds for the MS Society.

Held on Sunday the 2nd November, the ride attracted 14,000 riders ,riding 90 km from Sydney park St Peters or 56km from Heathcote to Stuart park Wollongong via the Royal National Park and the Seacliff bridge.

The Hannanprint team has grown from 23 riders the first year to 118 riders this year, to become the second largest corporate team participating in the ride.

The team included riders from both Hannanprint NSW and Victoria plants, as well as Craft Inprint, NDD and Bluarc along with family members, friends, customers , sponsors and suppliers.

Thanks to our sponsors, all team members were decked out in the Hannanprint cycle jersey with matching water bottle, making them all very easy to spot along the way.

A small dedicated team of volunteers manned the hospitality tent at the finish, with food drink and a massage for all the riders.

A highlight this year was a yellow jersey awarded to the highest individual fundraiser in the team. This honour went to Michael Martin of Kemenys - a customer of Craft Inprint - who raised over $4,000 , who was followed closely behind by Hannanprint Managing Director, Tony Dedda.

The Hannaprint team raised over thirty one thousand dollars for the MS society and was proud to be amongst the top ten fundraising teams.

The event itself raised over $1.9 million dollars for the MS Society.

MS stands for Multiple Sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system affecting more young adult Australians than any other neurological condition.

In Australia, over 20,000 people currently have MS, however this figure is increasing as diagnosis methods become more advanced.

MS Australia provides programs and choices to people with MS including a range of residential facilities, social support programs, accommodation support services, attendant care in private homes, involvement with regional centres and country link programs. These services are vital to maintain the independence and dignity of people with MS.

Congratulations to the Hannanprint team for their tremendous support for this worthy cause.
