Family Handyman, the 45,000-copy per month do-it-yourself advice magazine published by Australian Reader's Digest has itself moved house, joining its parent at NDD Distribution.

"The current Australian lifestyle trend focusing on home and garden makes Family Handyman a perfect fit in our portfolio where we already distribute many of the market leaders," NDD general manager, Rayma Creswell said. "We have the market expertise in this area and are confident of achieving strong future growth for the title," she said.

Creswell said NDD market research had identified the 'nesting' trend very early and had directed resources to ensure 'ownership' of that segment of the market.  Its clients already include leaders in the lifestyle category like Superfood Ideas, delicious, Gardening Australia and the Australian Vogue titles.

NDD research, backed up by the official figures, predicts the housing boom will continue at least until mid 2003 and more and more established home owners are looking to major renovations," said Creswell.

The return of Family Handyman from competitor Gordon & Gotch continues a run of new business for NDD. The international (US & UK) Conde Nast titles also recently moved to NDD from Gordon & Gotch and include: UK Vogue, House & Garden, Tatler, GQ, World of Interiors, Brides, Vanity Fair, Glamour and Conde Nast Traveller, among others.
